Ucsc Tables : What Is The Difference Between Refgene And Xenorefgene Tables ?

Hi All,

Both of these two tables have the same structure ( chimp, PanTro3) BUT one have much more data than the other, why ? and what is the difference between the two of them.

xenoRefGene description says: This track shows known protein-coding genes from organisms other than [your organism], taken from the NCBI mRNA reference sequences collection (RefSeq).

Whereas refGene contains only genes from [your organism].

You can find this by clicking the "Describe Table Schema" button on the UCSC tables page.
