I have a set of Sanger sequences generated from PCR products for a gene. Each component covers a specific part of the gene with the sum of the PCR products covering the whole gene. I'd like to reconstruct the gene sequence from each of these products, what is the best approach for doing this?

I use to do it by AutoAssembler which is on Mac but we got that along with ABI 3730 sequencer. I am not sure if its available freely.

I think DNAstar would be best for you. You can do it on Bio-edit also.
