Hello there ...

What websites can I obtain the full amino acid sequences of Grass species from?

I need them for all genes of a certain species, say Aegilops taushii as instance but not for the whole genome.

I did some search and found useful websites for plants kingdom (e.g. http://www.gramene.org/), but I couldn't figure my way around.

Also, I'm looking for a good tool to convert cDNA fasta files into amino acids of fasta format. Any recommendations?

Is it possible to convert one inside Biopython? i.e. is there any classes to perform this task from within a source code?

Thanks in advance

You were so close! The Ensembl FTP site is where to get the data you want, and the species you are interested in happens to be the top one on the list: http://ensembl.gramene.org/info/website/ftp/index.html

In this case, you don't have to do any conversion because FASTA files for cDNA and Proteins are provided (along with many other formats).
