Visualizing multiple average profiles

What would be a good way to visualize the average profiles across multiple tissues and samples. That is to say something like this visualized over multiple tissues :-

You could use R, with colMeans()plot(), lines() and related functions. You'd add as many lines() calls as you need to show multiple aggregate profiles for various signals (example).

See the deepTools suite, in particular the computeMatrix and profiler tools ( https://github.com/fidelram/deepTools/wiki/Visualizations ). Similar questions have appeared a few times on biostars.
