How to make open/save functionality for .ab1 files in swift, objective C or C ?

I am writing program for molbiol in swift. I need functionality to open/save the sequencing chromatogram files .ab1, .abi. It will be nice if somebody can give me the tips how I can do this in swift, objective C or C. Probably for C exists some parser. I would prefer to try writing of parser in pure swift, without bridging with Objective C or C. I did it for GeneBank file format and I would like to do the same for ab1, but I guess it is more complicated than for GeneBank format.
