relationship between RNA-seq for cell line and patient samples

It is very common now days that a biological lab will perform cell line experiment in cancer cell line and then see the expression of some particular gene perform downstream analysis and then turn to patients gene expression or RNA-seq.

I can see the similar or different pattern. The question I have is what is the best way of presenting such information-

Should we say correlation coefficient?

Enlist the average or median expression?

Enlist range of expression?

However we are dealing with cells vs human samples which may be very different.

Any suggestion or pointer please.
