Is there a free database of bacterial phenotype information by species name?

I am interested in finding out some general phenotype information from a list of species. Basically, given a species name, I'd like to be able to know it's general information like:

Gram Stain, Aerobic/Anaerobic, and Morphology. Any other defining phenotypic characteristics would be interesting as well.

I think something like the GIDEON database would be like what I'm after, but it seems to be a paid model database. I'd really like to be able to automate looking up a bunch of names at a time, which is why I'm interested in a database kind of file. Anyone have any suggestions?

NCBI used to have something like this but as far as I know, it's no longer available. Google told me that somebody has parsed stuff from Bergey's Manual..
