Even though Indiana has a couple (e.g., MS/PhD in Bioinformatics programs), there is still a shortage of skilled bioinformaticians in the greater Indianapolis-Carmel region thanks to pharmaceutical companies like Eli Lilly and Company and biomedical research. Wages are also relatively high compared with the cost of living, which is low for the USA.
