Hello fellow Biostars,

I have a Biomart related questions: I downloaded a number of QTL regions from the animalgenome DB and wanted to see which genes overlap with them. I filtered for multiple regions, which all worked fine - however I am unsure which overlap criteria were used and cannot find anothing on the matter in the documentation or FAQ. Does a gene hit mean that the QTL is completely imbedded within or would a partial intersection be sufficient, too?

I appreciate all help, thanks!

Cheers

Any overlap, full or partial, is counted. You can test this for yourself by putting in a one base region that you know is within a gene: you'll get the gene back.
