Hi guys,

Now I have a FASTA file which is the post-assembly sequence of a bacterial genome. Now I have some pre-annotated files that stated that there are 4 insecticidal genes in my sequence. I also know that normally, these genes are located on plasmid Surprisingly, when I uploaded my sequence to PlasmidFinder, the system found only 1 gene and that does not harbor any of the 4 genes mentioned above.

Could anybody suggest better tools that I can use for plasmid detection. Best regards,

The -Anh

One I recall hearing about recently was PlasFlow. I don’t have a link/paper handy but it shouldn’t be difficult to find on google.

Never used it myself though, so can’t vouch for it.
