How can i add the same sequence starting from the last of a sequence in a multi-fasta file?

actually i want to extend the sequences in fasta file by adding same sequence next to a sequence..

thanks a lot.. i have figure it out by using "paste" command.. it really works

paste -d "\0" unp_bef60.fa unp_bef60-2.fa > unp_bef60_dup.fa

here,

  • unp_bef60.fa original fasta file
  • unp_bef60-2.fa is same file with another name..
  • unp_bef60_dup.fa is final file after duplication..

just need to remove duplicated headers which is an easy task.
