Hi all, I want to label some groups of OTUs in a tree. However, I find it difficult for me to do that since the tree contains many OTUs and the newick format makes it not easy to recognize the OTUs that I want to label. Could anyone help me with how to deal with it? Thanks!

Try using APE the [R] package designed to deal with formatting and plotting trees.

There are a few programs out there to visualise metadata associated trees. A couple of point and click examples are ARB or Topiary Explorer both of which can take auxiliary metadata files associated with the tree so that you can label, search and annotate
