Join a group focused on the genomic variation of human pathogens, and their impact on human health. Interface with bioinformatics and computational groups at PSU's Huck Institutes for the Life Sciences, Center for Genomics (http://www.huck.psu.edu/research/genomics), and Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics (http://www.cidd.psu.edu/). Projects include genome resequencing and RNAseq studies. For more info, read on!
Our research lab is seeking a scientific programmer/bioinformatician, to join us in a quest to understand genetic variation in neurotropic viruses, and their impact on human health. Your job would include researching the genetic variation among virus strains (e.g. genome resequencing), as well as analyzing how host neurons respond to infection (e.g. transcriptomics/RNAseq).
You would interact frequently with other genomics and bioinformatics groups on campus, including those in the Huck Institutes for the Life Sciences, the Genomics Institute and its subsidiaries, and the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics.
