I need to convert the gene symbol of GSE71729 to Ensembl ID. I have used the mygene but there are no results for that. do you have any idea how can I do this conversion? please consider that for my microarray dataset, there is no extra information except the gene symbol.

Is that the gene symbol or microarray? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/query/acc.cgi?acc=GSE71729

What do you mean? I have this dataset and would like to have Ensembl ID instead of gene symbol. Is it possible to do this conversion?

What I mean is that there appears to be no gene symbol with the identifier you are providing. So you might double-check what exactly you are trying to convert. I even provided a link for you to investigate. Hope this helps!

In this dataset (GSE71729) which is microarray data has Gene Symbol that I want to map these gene symbols to corresponding Ensembl IDs. So I could do this conversion with "mygene" package in python. So some Gene Symbols have no Ensembl ID like ('C5orf32', 'LOC284422', 'MS4A8B', 'ANXA8L2', 'C1orf225', 'GPR109B', 'ATAD4', 'C20orf56', 'C8orf47',...), do have any idea how can I find their corresponding Ensembl IDs?

Thanks in advance.

You can try this out - Gene ID Conversion Tool. You only have to paste the Gene IDs you already have, and select the format for the input and desired output along with the species.

Another option is to use GeneCards, loading the URL https://www.genecards.org/cgi-bin/carddisp.pl?gene=NAME, where NAME is the name of your gene.

If it is an alias or otherwise points to an existing record, the GeneCards link will take you to a page with details and alternate symbols.
