Dear all,
I have long wondered why Biostars has such restrictive categories (at the top).
Several categories are missing for my taste:
- mapping
- epigenomics
- long reads
Potentially also new categories or misc like single cell, Hi-C, *-seq for exotic sequencing approaches.
Are there any plans to change this ?
Thanks,
Colin
I realise that, by categories I mean the clickable links at the very top of the site. Which most users would use I would assume. Thanks for the tip though.
Ah I see. I think those
categories
are reallytags
(full list can be seen by clicking ALL here: https://www.biostars.org/t/ ). What you are interested in is a configurable display of things you like up there.Biostars v. N+
will happen at some point in future and display configurability would be a reasonable feature request. Don't hold your breath though :-DI actually never use those categories, but it wouldn't be too hard to set a bookmark in your browser for a tag which interests you.
