Dear All,

I am trying to perform functional annotation of my metagenomic ORFs, and looking specifically for genes involved in Iron and Sulphur metabolism. Can anyone recommend a specific database for this homology search and mapping?

Thank you!

See this post below, for iron it should help.

iron metabolism pathway

Search in NCBI gives some bacterial and B.taurus iron-related genes.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene?term=iron[gene]%20AND%20alive[prop]%20NOT%20newentry[gene]%20&sort=weight

There is some information for both iron and sulfur:

C: Trying to parse the SwissProt keywlist.txt with biopython

Extract the targeted txt using python

Always go to LATEST from the upper panel, type

what you are looking for and then look at the right panel -

there will be some useful related posts.
