Postdoc in computational and experimental annotation of tRNA-related sequences

We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral scientist to join our team at the Department of Computational Biology (http://combio.pl), Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. The position is available for minimum 2 years (with possibility of extension), from 1 December 2019. The salary is according to the scale of the National Science Foundation (NSF: 8 000 PLN (gross) / per month).

The NSF-funded project focuses on prediction and functional annotation of tRNA-related sequences in model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. The experimental and computational approaches concentrate on exploration of non-coding RNAs that possess only partial structural properties of canonical tRNAs.

In general the tasks will include:

  • isolation and fractionation of noncoding RNAs;
  • preparation of custom NGS libraries;
  • verification of expression data using qPCR and/or hybridization;
  • processing of sequencing data.

The successful candidate should have a record of peer-reviewed publications as well as a strong background in molecular biology techniques and basic skills in bioinformatic data processing. Previous experience in molecular plant biology is helpful, but not essential. The working language of the lab is English.

Informal enquiries are welcome (email: wmk@amu.edu.pl).

Applications (single pdf) should contain a c.v., a short summary of previous research experience and the names of two referees.

Deadline: 2019-10-20
