Forum:Suggestion: Show Related Posts In Biostar?

One feature from seqanswers that I like very much is that once you type in a title, you're immediately provided with an automatically generated list of similar posts. Of course, one could say that it is the asker's responsibility to search the site for whether the question has been asked previously, but the reality is that duplicate posts do still occur. I think that this kind of feature would contribute to greatly reducing the number of these on this forum as well. Would this kind of feature be possible to implement in Biostar? I do see that each post does contain a "Similar posts" button, but I've only ever gotten the result "Search error: list index out of range" whenever I've tried clicking on it - not to mention that such a button only appears after I've posted my question.

Highly agree, but I think we need more people to contribute to the code base. The general search functionality in my opinion is still lacking.

The way this works is alas a bit obtuse, the similar search link works but you have to wait on average 30minutes for the indexer to pick up the latest posts and add them to the index. That error message is highly non-informative.

A few releases back the schema has been changed to add related posts, so that will work as well if I made the change of also populating the related post tables. This will be in the next bigger release perhaps in a few weeks. I want to tie this into the post title suggestion feature.
