Always more often the participants of our courses are asking us about possible cloud computing services (free and not) that they can use to analyse their own data.
Here the few cloud computing services that I know, but feel free to extend this list if you know any other possible service:
The Bioimage ANalysis Desktop (BAND), a Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform that generates a desktop environment within the user’s web browser. It is primarily aimed at interactive image analysis work but can also be used as a generic desktop. Each desktop is run as a job in a cluster and each application is a separate singularity container made available via the desktop applications menu.
Disclaimer: It's one of my projects. Feel free to get in touch if you have questions or suggestions.
Hi, I recently gave a webinar for ASHG about using cloud for education that might be of interest to you. A big part of my presentation had to do with how we can reduce the gap between teaching environments and research environments. I wrote up a blog post summarizing key points and there is a full recording of my presentation (available through ASHG; requires free registration)
I recently asked a similar question Public servers for bioinformatics
Hi, thanks!
