Hi,
As I did not find similar study in googling, do you think this is wise to study co-expression of miRNAs
in lung cancer
and mRNAs
in colon cancer
???
All depends upon your hypothesis and aim. So what are they?
I read
Quan L, Stassen APM, Ruivenkamp CAL, van Wezel T, Fijneman RJA, Hutson A, et al. Most Lung and Colon Cancer Susceptibility Genes Are Pair-Wise Linked in Mice, Humans and Rats. PLoS ONE. 2011; 6(2): e14727.
then I thought to check for this relation in miRNAs and mRNAs.
however do you think this is wise and deserve to be assigned my time and efforts?
It's not useless to do anything, whatever stupid or naive it may sound. Al the least, it will teach you something (even that it was stupid Q is a good outcome!). And if you are lucky, it can land you in some new findings. However, your problem here is not whether doing it is wise or unwise. You need to explain better what you want to achieve. Are you doing it for some fun? Then just go ahead. Have you thought a research idea based on that? Explain to us and we can be your best peer reviewers. Think of it as writing a grant: you have as well written part of the bibliography, but the main proposal is still missing!
thank you
As colon and lung are generated from common primordial cells I want to seek potential modules of miRNA-mRNA in cancers in these tissues.
