Can someone kindly point me any reliable means of acquiring a bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics ONLINE? I checked Coursera but no degree in Bioinformatics.

Thanks

I don't think things like Coursera offer actual degrees. You need to be an accredited institution (at least in the UK).

I don't know where you are but some universities offer their courses online, but the obvious one in the UK would be something like the Open University. The OU is more 'distance learning' than purely online as far as I know, but it might be course-specific.

You would want to be very careful about online "profit making" institutions that claim to offer degrees.

If this request is out of the desire to obtain a degree at no (or significantly reduced cost) then there is nothing legal like that that would fit the bill in most countries.

Here is an example of an online masters degree and lesser a graduate certificate from a reputable university in the US. Both require you to apply to get admitted and do charge the same tuition as regular grad school.

While not a perfect solution, I have some notes on on-line courses here:

If you don't have any experience, I think an on-campus degree might have advantages. If you are talking about a Bachelor's degree, then I would probably also be more cautious about the on-line part (but I think a lot of public universities have degrees in Bioinformatics).

However, if you already have some experience, I would be interested in hearing feedback about things like the Data Science Coursera certificates / MasterTracks, or any of the other options that I mention later on in the blog post (but I have not actually moved forward with any of those applications).

For example, University of Maryland has a on-line Master's degree with "Bioinformatics" in the name, but I don't know anything else about it:

You could have a look at edX. I have only ever used it for free online modules so please research a bit more into it before paying for anything! https://www.edx.org/course?search_query=bioinformatics
